No-Tie Shoelaces for Kids

Mornings without the shoelace fight. Lace once. They slip in, run out the door, and nothing comes untied.

Why kids do better with elastic laces

The best no-tie shoelaces for kids are the ones a child manages alone. Lace the shoe once, and from then on it slips on and off like a slip-on. No morning knot battles, no laces dragging on the playground, no stopping to retie at practice. Stretchlace makes three kinds of no-tie laces for kids' shoes: tieless silicone straps with nothing to tie, flat elastic laces that look like the ones that came with the shoe, and bow clips that keep a tied bow tied. All of them work with any kids' shoe that has eyelets, from toddler sneakers to big-kid cleats.

Sizing kids' shoes

Count the eyelets on one side. Four to five eyelets, pick 24 to 30 inches. Six eyelets, pick 30 to 35 inches. Silicone straps are one size and fit most kids' sneakers. See Sizing Help.

Questions we get

What length do I buy for my kid's shoes?

Measure one of the laces already in the shoe and match it to our lengths. If you can't get it out, count the eyelet pairs: four or five is usually 24 or 30 inches, six is 30 or 35. The size guide and the length chart walk through it. When in doubt, match the original, never shorter.

Will they come loose when my kid runs and plays?

No. The elastic holds the tension you set when you tie the one bow. The fit rule that matters: the bow and loose ends should sit on top of the foot, not graze the ground. Details in the install and fit FAQ. And if a bow ever does work loose, which we don't expect, snap a knot bow clip over it and it stays tied for good.

Do they look like normal laces? The school has a dress code.

Yes. Flat and round Stretchlace look like classic shoelaces with a normal bow, no toggles, cords or plastic anchors. Tieless silicone straps look different, so pick flat laces if the school is strict.

Which kids' shoes do they fit?

Any shoe with eyelets: sneakers, light-ups, cleats, boots. Model-specific lengths for Nike, Adidas, New Balance, George and Wonder Nation are on the shoe brand pages. Wrong size? See returns and exchanges.
